Elephants Get Fat Eating Peanuts

I wouldn't think so...

Elephants Get Fat Eating Peanuts

Humm…do they? I’m not sure elephants are even fat, I just think they are big animals and as it turns out peanuts are not even their preferred source of nutrition. But that’s not the point here, I heard the statement at a social media seminar and it hit home for me. Here’s the bottom line: L i ttle things can make a big difference over time ! I hate counting calories! And I don’t advocate counting calories as a viable means of health and happiness either. That said, I was unfortunately (or fortunately?) born a human calorie calculator. I can look at just about anything and hit the calorie total within 10% almost every time. So let me do the math for you today and give you just a little insight here… ...Read More

My DIY Gallery Wall

Do you have a #DIY gallery wall?

My DIY Gallery Wall

Do you remember my gorgeous all-white DIY gallery wall that I did back in November? I'm sure you do because it's been one of my most popular posts to date and has even made it to onto DwellingGawker too! It's so cool to see my gallery wall featured because it took a ton of work to put it all together! Adhering all the Command strips, figuring out the placement, and then finally hanging them up on the wall! Since November I've added a few new frames and prints to my wall. I even swapped out a print too, which was super easy to do since I used Command photo hanging strips. One strip stays on the wall while the other velcro side comes off so you can take down your frame! Before I show you what it looks like now, let's see what...Read More

Grapefruit Lemonade Non-Alcoholic Spritzer

A virgin drink that looks delightful!

Grapefruit Lemonade Non-Alcoholic Spritzer

With most of our Kansas days reaching a sweltering 100+ degrees, cold beverages are a must. At the beginning of the summer, I was on a Starbucks Passion Fruit lemonade kick and since then, I've moved on to grapefruit juice. It's the perfect combination of sweet and sour and the color is just gorgeous. Not to mention the actual fruit is yummy to eat too when you top it with sugar. This spritzer is the perfect combination of tangy and sweet. The Lorina sparkling lemonade compliments the citrus of the grapefruit perfectly. Add some rimming sugar and an umbrella straw and this gorgeous pink-hued drink is ready to be enjoyed in the hot weather.       Grapefruit Lemonade Spritzer yields one...Read More

S’Mores Martini with DIY Chocolate Marshmallow...

Looks interesting. Not sure if I'd like it, but you might :)

S’Mores Martini with DIY Chocolate Marshmallow...

Infused vodka has reached all-time popularity in recent years. Today, infused vodka is everywhere and the flavor combinations are more interesting than ever. Infusing your own vodka is relatively easy to do. You can change the flavor of vodka by incorporating new flavors to a basic vodka base and give the vodka time to absorb the introduced flavor. You can infuse your vodka with fruit, like pineapple, or add a spicier flavor by infusing vodka with jalapeno or garlic (which would be perfect for bloody marys). On a random Sunday I decided to whip up my own batch of Chocolate Marshmallow Infused Vodka. It was a cold winter day and I was craving S’Mores. I knew the Chocolate Marshmallow To begin, I grabbed a large mason jar...Read More
